Incontinence in the Elderly Muslim Women

I have chosen to address an issue sparked by a recent conversation with a fellow sister from Assunta. We delved into the topic of 'istihadhah', a condition where menstruation is either delayed, accompanied by spotting, or prolonged for more than 15 days. Though this condition may not afflict elderly women, it's crucial to recognize that this Islamic law applies to women dealing with incontinence. For those experiencing mild incontinence, wherein bladder control is compromised or leaks and discharges occur, it's essential to handle such situations with care. When performing 'wudhu', it's advisable to immediately use pads designed for incontinence. This ensures readiness for prayers, albeit valid only for one obligatory prayer. For subsequent obligatory prayers, it's necessary to renew the pad and perform 'wudhu' again. Refer to the following link, https://www.muftiwp.gov.my/en/artikel/irsyad-fatwa/irsyad-fatwa-umum-cat/1841-irsyad-al-fatwa-ke-148-wudhu-bagi-mereka-yang-kencing-tidak-lawas-salisi-al-baul-dan-hukum-berimamkan-mereka Several recommendations for incontinence pads include Poise liners and pads, Tena liners and pull-ups, and, for extreme cases, diapers. Additionally, Kotex overnight panties also provide protection and comfort. May this Ramadan be a time of spiritual growth and reflection for us all, as we engage in fasting, nightly prayers, and acts of worship. Ramadan Mubarak. ❤️
Salam all. After a hiatus, I'm back, alhamdulillah. It took a while, but the moment is here. With a few more years and academic qualifications under my belt, I envision this blog evolving into something richer and more up-to-date than my initial posts. May this fresh start bring you valuable insights and blessings, inshaAllah. Will post soon, inshaAllah. Till then, wslm.
